United Nations to publish "blacklist" of companies doing business with Judea and Samaria

In 2016, the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) passed a resolution calling for a database of enterprises that have “enabled, facilitated [or] profited from the construction and growth of the [Israeli] settlements” in Judea and Samaria. What this database will be, if published, is a blacklist of companies that do business with, or are located in the territories. The stated goal of this project is to inform countries and organizations of companies that conduct business in Judea and Samaria, to ensure that they comply with “international law”.

But the UNHRC is targeting these businesses in an attempt to pressure them, expose them to those who wish to boycott Israel, and ultimately cause them to cease doing business in Judea and Samaria.

The resolution setting the compilation of this database in motion, draws on the long history of false accusations against Israel by the United Nations. It does not recognize the right of Israel to any of Judea and Samaria, the Golan, or East Jerusalem, calling them “occupied Palestinian territories” and categorizes any Israeli activity in the territories as illegal.

The United States and Israel are now working even harder to prevent the publication of this blacklist, as it becomes apparent that the U.N. plans to publish the report in a matter of weeks. The publication of the blacklist would be a victory for BDS and those who hate Israel. Danny Danon, Israel’s ambassador to the U.N. told the Associated Press that publication of the report would turn the Human Rights Council into “the world’s biggest promoter of BDS” (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions.)

The U.N. has already sent letters to 150 companies, threatening to add them to the blacklist. Some companies have already signified that they will not be renewing contracts in Judea and Samaria.

As it appears likely that the list will be released anyway, despite Israeli and U.S. intervention, the way to combat the report is to show our strong support for Israel, and cause the intent of the blacklist to backfire. Blessed Buy Israel provides you with a way to directly support businesses in Judea and Samaria that the UNHRC is targeting. Together, we can send a strong message to the United Nations, and the world, that their malicious attacks against Israel are futile and that Judea and Samaria wholly and undeniably belong to Israel.

Jerusalem belongs to all of Isreal, as it says in the Torah.
