Since Hamas's vile and horrifying terror attack began on the morning of Saturday, October 7, more Israelis have lost their lives bringing the total to more than 1400. May their memories be for a blessing. Another incredibly tragic situation, are the estimated 200 Israelis being held hostage in Gaza.

Rockets continue to be fired at Israeli population centers, keeping Israelis on edge, and running to bomb shelters. A number of rockets have been fired at Israel in the north as well, from Lebanon and Syria, and Israel has been striking targets, on guard against a potential escalation.

Hamas terrorists took at least 199 hostages to Gaza. Pray for their safety and quick release!

While initially caught off guard, Israel has reorganized, secured the southern front and has been targeting terrorists in Gaza. The IDF has also called up 360,000 reservists for duty, a massive number, to protect from threats in the south and north. Israel's leaders have committed to dealing terrorists in Gaza a crushing blow. Israel's plans to do that remain to be seen, but it appears a ground invasion of Gaza is imminent.

Strong response from President Biden

The Biden administration initially came out in strong support of Israel after the brutal terror attacks. They spoke like no US administration has ever spoken of Israel's duty to eliminate Hamas, and they supplied vital military aid. Now though, it appears they are taking both sides in the conflict. President Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken have both been to Israel in recent days, demanding Israel give humanitarian aid to Gaza, and announcing $100 million in aid to Gaza, and Arabs in Judea and Samaria.

Continue to pray for Israel. The Jewish nation has a long road ahead to conquer its enemies; its people have a long road of dealing with trauma, of healing, although the scars from this dark time will remain for many years.

Here are some specific prayer points:

• Pray for a speedy release for all those held captive in Gaza.
• Pray for wisdom for Israel's leaders, and unity in their resolve to defeat their enemies.
• Pray for Israel's army that they would have clarity, courage and strength
• Pray for healing for the thousands wounded in the attacks
• Pray for protection and peace for Israelis
