Why We Keep Our Kitchen Stocked With Har Bracha Tahini

For people looking for the flavor of Israel, you’ll want to make sure your Middle Eastern cupboard is stocked with this gem. Made by the small Samaritan community on Mount Gerizim, this isn’t your average tahini. It’s a smooth, rich, and delicious experience!

In the world of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine, tahini stands as a cornerstone ingredient, lending its rich, delicious flavor to many dishes. Har Bracha Tahini is 100% natural, kosher, and an exceptional choice for both culinary enthusiasts and health-conscious consumers because of its quality, authentic production methods, and deep-rooted cultural heritage. You won’t find a falafel shop that doesn’t have a bottle of delicious Tahini sauce front and center, ready to take your meal to the next level.

From the Mountain of Blessing

Tahini Har Bracha was founded by a Samaritan man, Abdallah Wasef, in 1997 to create honest work for his community and to bring something positive into the world. What began with one machine in a tiny room has now grown into Israel’s most beloved tahini, found in kitchens all around the world.

Some people ask us, “Why would you support a non-Jewish company in the land of Israel?” Our response: We are so happy to see non-Jews who are working in sync with their Jewish neighbors. They are trailblazing a path of peaceful coexistence between Jews and others who live in the same land. The Samaritans work directly with the Jewish community of Har Bracha to ensure that a kosher standard is kept and they have great relationships with the Jewish people in general. If we hope for peace, then we need more people on both sides of the aisle to bridge the gap.

A Time-tested process of Excellence

The process to make the Tahini has been passed down through generations and they still use the ancient method of stone grinding the sesame seeds to ensure a rich, smooth, and full-bodied tahini. Each batch then goes through a meticulous process of carefully selecting the seeds, roasting them, and grinding them slowly for the smooth and consistent texture and flavor. Employing the ancient methods of making tahini is what sets this tahini apart from all others and gives it such a tremendous taste and unmatched quality.

A Great Companion

Tahini's delicious taste makes it a great companion for many dishes . This isn't just an ingredient for hummus–it's a culinary cornerstone that can transform countless dishes. You may have heard of Tahini being used in traditional Middle Eastern recipes, like Hummus, but its uses extend far beyond this. It is also used in traditional dishes like Baba Ganoush, where Tahini adds a rich flavor which complements the smokiness of roasted eggplant. Paired with your Falafel as a drizzle or dipping sauce, Tahini adds moisture and flavor to the crispy falafel balls. Tahini is also used to make the delicious sweet sesame dessert Halva. Getting Har Bracha tahini also opens the door of possibility into an incredible amount of everyday dishes beyond just those traditional middle eastern dishes however.

Our favorite way of eating Tahini is as a family, sitting around the table, dipping pieces of warm, homemade bread into this delicious, nutty dip.

What Har Bracha Tahini represents is the perfect intersection of tradition, quality, and culinary excellence. Its pure, clean flavor profile makes it perfect even for people who previously thought they don't like tahini and its versatility makes it a workhorse ingredient in countless recipes.
