This Ancient History Was Almost Lost

Underneath the familiar Golden Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, sits a stone known in Hebrew as “Even HaSh’tiya—the Foundation Stone.” This stone is said to be the rock upon which God created and founded the entire world. It was the place where man received God’s breath of life and began to interact with the world around him.

It is no wonder, then, that so many people around the world connect with this Holy Place. Thousands of people are drawn to Jerusalem. The Holy City does not only contain the history of the first Israelites, or the returned Jewish exiles, or the early Christians, or the Moslem conquerors. It is a city that contains the history of humanity right from the beginning. And it is why so many people describe traveling to Jerusalem as the feeling of their soul returning home.

Much of the Temple Mount's History was Nearly Lost...

The Temple Mount Sifting Project was initiated after the Jordanian Waqf (the Moslem organization responsible for the Islamic structures on the Temple Mount) illegally dumped more than 9,000 tons of Temple Mount soil, mixed with invaluable archaeological artifacts, into the Kidron Valley in 1999.

Their goal was to destroy the evidence linking the Jewish people to the Temple Mount. Their efforts backfired. With over half a million artifacts uncovered to date, the Temple Mount Sifting Project’s ongoing efforts continue to reveal abundant evidence for the existence of the House of Prayer for all nations in Jerusalem!
