Middle East Update and Prayer Points

Middle East Update and Prayer Points

Ben Wearp |

This weekend marks two weeks since the start of the war against Iran, which Israel opened with the assassination of the evil Ayatollah Khamenei. Since then, Israel and the United States have cooperated to bring many more devastating blows against Iran’s cruel leadership and its ability to wage war.

Praise God, the number of missile launches have become less and less every day, and the amount of damage in Israel is far less than it was during the twelve day operation against Iran last June. But the future of this war and its aftermath are far from certain. The Iranian regime’s main bargaining chip now seems to be their ability to restrict shipping through the Strait of Hormuz—a narrow waterway through which ⅕ of the world’s oil and ⅓ of the world’s fertilizer passes. And though their ballistic missile stores are being quickly depleted, they still possess a large quantity of attack drones.

(Photo: A cargo ship sets sail in a Russian port.) The Iranian regime has a lot of leverage with its ability to threaten world shipping in the narrow Strait of Hormuz.

This past week, threats against Israel erupted on another front: The Iranian-proxy terrorist group Hezbollah in Lebanon once again began firing rockets against Israel after a period of quiet since November 2024. Israel has been conducting heavy airstrikes in Lebanon, and moved ground troops into Southern Lebanon. The terror group remains heavily weakened as a result of Israel’s extraordinary exploding pager and walkie talkies operation, but they still possess some firepower.

Here are a few prayer points for the days to come:

  • Pray for continued military success for Israel and the USA against the evil Iranian regime.
  • Pray that Israel will be able to effectively deal with the threats from Hezbollah in the North.
  • Pray for comfort for Israelis who have had loved ones killed and injured. Pray for those who have experienced many sleepless nights and countless hours in bomb shelters.
  • Pray for wisdom for our leaders and continued strong cooperation between the United States and Israel.
  • Pray for safety within the United States. There has been talk of a real threat of “sleeper cells” in the United States, and the FBI recently warned of Iranian drone threats to California.

In Israel there is a phrase that became common since October 7, 2023: "Yachad Nenatzeach—Together We Will Win." Friends, stay strong, hold fast to the truth, and work for unity with others on the same side and in the end we will overcome!

The God of Israel do not sleep neither slumber, he will definitely lift up a standard against any evil nation that want to stand against or cause disruption. AND ALL WILL BE REWARDED AS THEY ARE NOW. God will surely give wisdom knowledge and understanding to your leaders. Keep the faith we are praying for you

Melrose Parker,

You have won the war only when Iranian women throw their Burquas. WISH you win the war and make the planet safe for one and all

Ashok Verghese ,

Anna,

I pray that Elohim will bless me to do more in support of Israel. One thing I have started doing is to stand with Israel by facing Jerusalem and praying the Amidah (Jewish Standing Prayers/Blessings) every day (I use an English translation). Also, called Shemoneh Esrei (18 Blessings), here is the closing blessing: “Establish peace, goodness, blessing, life, graciousness, kindness, and compassion upon us and upon all of Your people Israel. Bless us, our Father, all of us as one, with the light of Your countenance, for with the light of Your countenance You gave us, Adonai, our God, the Torah of life and a love of kindness, righteousness, blessing, compassion, life, and peace. And may it be good in Your eyes to bless us and bless all of Your people Israel, in every season and in every hour with Your peace, with abundant strength and peace. Blessed are You, Adonai, Who blesses His people Israel with peace (shalom).”
